We had a major thunder-and-lightning storm last night, which knocked out power for approximately 45 minutes last night. I believe the nature of the outage was "messy" (power bumps, etc) because the main UPS (power supply with battery backup) in the POLAN server room was in very unhappy condition following the outage. Some components claimed to be faiiled and the unit was operating at a very sub-par output.

TDC came onsite around noon and

• cleanly power-cycled the UPS unit
• made sure it came online cleanly, that all faults were cleared and equipment was able to come online
• Core servers were powered up and booted cleanly
• Assorted misc servers and services were started or restarted to ensure optimal operations

As of approximately 1:15pm, I believe we're back to "correct operations".
