ANCHOR MIGRATION UPDATE:

Preparation work for the anchor migration has gone smoothly this week, and we're on-track for the rollover to happen Monday.

At the moment, we're looking towards shutdown of anchor happening around or shortly before lunchtime (noon). There will then be ~1 or more hours of disruption of service, while recent changes to data are synchronized, and then the replacement anchor server will be brought online.

Once the replacement anchor server is online and operating normally, the new Sunray thin client workstation server will be brought online as well.

Following these 2 key phases, core services that were previously provided by anchor should be fully restored.

I'll be actively debugging and resolving "small assorted details" after core services are up. If you have any problems, please send me an email to let me know.

I will do my best to minimize downtime, but some interruption is inevitable with a transition of this nature.

I'll be sure to send updates both before and after the work begins on Monday. Additionally, updates will be posted at the SeaHorse website (http://seahorse.phys.ocean.dal.ca)

Thanks for your patience with this matter,

Tim Chipman
