The following notice was posted by Facilities Management today (Nov.29.06). As a result, all servers in POLAN will be offline for the duration of this work, and possibly for numerous (currently unspecified) hours into the following day.

From: Facilities Management Subject: Scheduled power outage

Please be advised that in order to perform upgrades to our main electrical system (Feeder A Replacement Project), we have scheduled a power outage for December 19. This outage is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. and is expected to last 7 hours (times approximate). The following buildings will be affected by this outage:

Note: ** indicates that only essential services will be supplied by emergency generator

++ indicates that the entire building will be supplied by emergency generator

During the outage, access to buildings where no emergency generator supply is available, or where an emergency generator supplies only the essential services, will be restricted to persons whose presence in the building is deemed to be critical. Access to these buildings during the outage must escorted and must be arranged with the local Facilities Management Zone Supervisor at least 48hrs prior to the outage.
