Subject: Salt Contamination Issues in Metro

We have been advised by Nova Scotia Power (NSP) that they have commenced work to clean and service electrical towers serving peninsula Halifax. This work is in response to the numerous outages experienced recently, which NSP indicate is resulting from salt deposits on distribution equipment. This work could take up to two weeks to complete.

For safety reasons during this cleanup work, redundant feeds normally in service will be reduced to a single feed and should an electrical problem develop an outage rather than just a power bump may result.
