ANCHOR experienced some problems on Sunday, Oct-15th in the afternoon due to the /VAR disk filling up to 100%. This resulted in a number of issues on anchor, including

  • SunRay workstations being unable to login or work normally
  • Local temporary files behaving inconsistently
  • Cron jobs may have had problems during this time

Disk space was freed up at approximately 4:30pm on the 15th, which should have alleviated these problems.

SunRay users who are still experiencing unusual problems (Unable to launch applications, edit files, etc.) are encouraged to log out and then log in again.

Additionally: measures have been taken to reduce the chance of the /VAR disk from filling up in the future, so that (hopefully) we don't have this problem again in a few months.
